Why God Create Me?

Q. Why God Create Me?

Ansa. One very good “catechism wey use kweshon and ansa” dey, wey dem know as The Baltimore Catechism. The title of the first part na “About Wetin Human Being Dey For.” Na so the kweshon and ansa take start:

Kweshon. Who make the world?
Ansa. Na God make the world.

Kweshon. Who be God?
Ansa.
Na God be the Creator of heaven and earth, and everything.

Kweshon. Wetin be human being?
Ansa. Human being na creature wey get body and soul, and wey God make for His image and likeness.

Kweshon. Why God make you?
Ansa. God make me so that I go know Him, love Him, and serve Him for this world, and so that I go dey happy with Him forever for heaven.

Even though the beginning of The Baltimore Catechism fit look too simple and like wetin dem dey teach beginners, e touch questions for philosophy wey deep well-well. Even just these first four kweshon na important kweshon wey good make we think deeply about as we dey pray. God wey be the Creator of everything—wey know everything, wey dey everywhere, and wey no get limit—want make you know Him. God wey make you for His image and likeness want make you love Him. For this world, He want make you serve Him so that other people fit come to Him. Finally, He want make we dey happy with Him for Heaven for all eternity. How we go take do this? Na only by following His Son, Jesus Christ, wey be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If we think deeply about the accounts for all four Gospel, the main message na say God the Father send His Son come this world to show us how to know Him, love Him, serve Him, and dey happy with Him forever—and, after everything, na exactly why God create us be that!
