Long Prayer of Perfect Love:
My Love wey dem crucify, my dear Jesus! I believe in You, and I confess say na You be the true Son of God and my Saviour. From the depth of how I no be anything on my own, I adore You, and I thank You for the death wey You suffer for me, so that I fit receive the life of divine grace. My beloved Redeemer, na You I owe all my salvation. Na through You I don escape hell till now; na through You I don receive forgiveness for my sins. But I no dey show gratitude at all, because instead make I love You, I don offend You again and again. I deserve make dem condemn me, so that I no go fit love You again. But no, my Jesus, punish me for any other way, but no be this one. If I no love You before, I love You now; and I no desire anything except to love You with all my heart. But without Your help, I no fit do anything. Since You command me to love You, give me the strength too to obey this Your sweet command wey full of love. You don promise to grant everything wey we ask You: Make una ask for anything wey una want, and dem go do am for una. So, as I trust this promise, my dear Jesus, the first thing wey I ask na forgiveness for all my sins; and above every other reason, I repent because I don offend You, O Goodness wey no get end! I ask make You help me stand firm for holiness inside Your grace till I die. But above all, I ask for the gift of Your holy love. Ah, my Jesus, my Hope, my Love, my Everything, set me on fire with that love wey You come this world to kindle! “Make the fire of Your love burn inside me.” For this purpose, make me always live according to Your holy will. Give me light, so that I go understand more and more how You deserve our love, and so that I go know the great love wey You don get for me, especially as You give Your life for me. So, grant make I love You with all my heart, make I love You always, and make I never stop to beg You for the grace to love You for this life; so that, as I always live and die inside Your love, one day I go come love You with all my strength for heaven, and never stop to love You for all eternity.
O Mother of beautiful love, the one wey dey plead my case and the one wey I dey run to for shelter, Mary, among all the creatures wey God make, na you fine pass, na you love pass, and na you God love pass, and your only desire na to see say people love Him! Ah, because of the love wey you get for Jesus Christ, pray for me, and obtain for me the grace to love Him always and with all my heart! Na this I ask from you, and na this I get hope say I go receive through you.
