To Dey Free from Worry

Eighth Sunday for Ordinary Time (Year A)

Jesus tell His disciples: “Nobody fit serve two masters. E go either hate one and love the other, or hold on to one and look down on the other. Una no fit serve God and money.” Matthew 6:24

E go help us to understand say after this opening statement, Jesus gently encourage the people make dem no worry or dey anxious about life. For the rest of today Gospel, He talk directly about worry and anxiety four times, one after another. Even though His opening words wey we quote above fit sound like say He dey criticize people wey depend too much on money, the rest of the passage make am clear say wetin Jesus mainly want na to help free us from the heavy load wey dey come when we trust money pass Him.

Who or wetin you trust pass every other thing? As we dey go through life and face different material needs, expenses wey dey increase and other things like that, many people go find say dem dey anxious and worried about how dem go provide for themselves and their families. For people wey get more than enough, or even plenty extra, their worry often dey take another form. Their anxiety often dey come as fear say dem fit lose wetin dem get, or as desire to get more. Dem think say the more dem fit get for life, the more peace and comfort dem go get. Even though material wealth fit give person some stability for this life, e no fit compare at all with the stability and peace of mind wey dey come when we completely trust God to care for us and provide for us in everything.

To depend on God to care for us and provide for us hard well-well for one simple reason: e need trust. Even though we must always handle our money and every other thing for life responsibly, the most responsible thing we fit do na to put all our trust in God. Trust mean say, above everything, we depend on God pass ourselves. To make that choice na act of the highest wisdom. And to fail to make that choice na foolishness.

You trust God to care for you and provide for you? If na this you dey struggle with, read the whole Gospel for today. No listen only to wetin Jesus talk; listen also to the way He talk am. E easy to fall into lack of trust, but e dey put heavy load for person body. Trust, on the other hand, fit hard at first, but e dey bring peace of mind and freedom. The simple truth wey we must believe be say God na Person wey we fit trust, and He go faithfully care for every need wey you get when you choose to depend completely on His care and provision. He go guide you with wisdom and provide for you in ways wey you no fit ever do by yourself. And His care and provision go reach far beyond material matters, enter the needs wey you get for your spirit, mind, feelings and relationships, wey matter far more.

Today, think deeply about whether you see God as Person wey you fit trust with every concern wey you get for life. This na very important question to think about. Seek the wisdom wey go lead you to put all your trust in God wey dey care for you and provide for you, and you go see say, because of His goodness and generosity, God dey pour everything wey you need for life, and much more, upon you.

God wey dey care for everything and provide all we need, na You and only You deserve my complete trust in everything. Abeg, fill me with the spiritual gift of wisdom so that I go see clearly how to hand over to You every anxiety and worry wey I dey carry. Abeg, free me from these heavy loads and fill me with the peace wey dey come when I trust You. Jesus, na You I trust.

To Fast for Grace

Eighth Sunday for Ordinary Time (Year B)

The disciples of John and the Pharisees dey fast as their custom. People come meet Jesus and question am, “Why the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees dey fast, but Your disciples no dey fast?” Mark 2:18

The aim of fasting for Old Testament time different from the aim of fasting for New Testament time. The difference between their aims be like the difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament. For Old Testament, God dey guide His people through the teachings of the Law of Moses and the Prophets. To live good life mainly depend on how person dey obey these teachings for outside. So, when people dey fast for Old Testament time, their aim na to return to faithful obedience to the Law and the Prophets.

Then the Messiah come. He dey with them as human being, and He dey with His disciples every day. As Jesus dey waka with them and begin give them new gift of grace, His disciples no need to fast the way people dey fast for Old Testament. The New Law of grace don come. And for some time, as long as our Lord dey with them, na time to rejoice, no be time to fast, because the Bridegroom dey with them.

“But the days go come when dem go take the bridegroom away from them, and then dem go fast for that day.” Jesus na the Bridegroom, and the disciples na the wedding guests. Jesus make am clear say time dey come soon when He go ascend enter Heaven and go dey present with them only through grace. When that time come, and when His followers turn away from Him and lose His new gift of grace for their lives, dem go need to fast—but with new aim. This new aim na to restore this New Law of grace.

“Nobody dey sew piece of cloth wey never shrink join old cloak,” and “nobody dey pour new wine inside old wineskins.” The aim of fasting for New Testament need to be to restore, inside our souls, the grace wey Jesus establish. The “cloth wey never shrink” and the “new wine” stand for this grace wey our Lord win through His death and resurrection. So, when person lose that grace because of the sin wey e commit, this new way of fasting go be one of the means to restore that grace.

Today, reflect on how important this new way of fasting and denying yourself be. Through am, you go open yourself more fully to the grace and mercy wey our Savior dey give you. Reflect especially on any sins wey you dey struggle with and wey dey rob you of God’s grace. Fasting no be burden wey we carry to pay for our past sins. The Cross don already accomplish that one. Instead, fasting na one way wey our souls fit gain freedom from the harmful attachment to sins wey dey stop us from opening ourselves to God’s grace. Seek that freedom, and accept every act of self-denial wey you need to gain am.

Lord of grace, You come to make all things new and to change us through Your New Law of grace. When I see sin for my life, give me the wisdom and courage wey I need to discipline my body and control my desires, so that I go gain freedom from these burdens and open myself more fully to everything wey You wish to give me. Jesus, na You I trust.

Wey Don Get Complete Training

Sunday Nomba Eight for Ordinary Time (Year C)

Jesus tell His disciples one parable: “Blind person fit guide another blind person? Both of them no go fall inside pit? No disciple dey above im teacher; but when every disciple don get complete training, e go be like im teacher.” Luke 6:39–40

You don “get complete training?” Wetin e mean to get complete training? Jesus make am clear say people wey don get complete training go be like their teacher. Of course, we must become like our Lord, wey be the one and only Teacher. So, you be like Him for every way?

To get complete training as Christian different from to get complete training for one kind of work. For example, doctor don get complete training when e don learn all the lessons wey e need and don put the practical parts of medicine into practice. Na so that person take become doctor, just like the doctors wey teach am. But Christian life no be something wey we go master just by learning plenty teachings of the faith, so that we go then use our knowledge and natural talents to put them into practice. For Christian to get complete training, the Divine Physician must take full possession of am, live inside am, and work through am. So, Christian training na the practice of allowing God to become one with you, so that na God go dey work inside you and through you.

The first aim of this kind “training” na to free us from spiritual blindness. We must see Christ and come to know Him. Again, this one no be just to use our mind learn different truths about God. Na to come to know the Truth Himself. We must see and know the Person wey be Christ Jesus. Na this be true sight. But blindness fit always come back when we turn the eyes of our soul away from the Savior.

But to see Christ no enough. After person see, e must act. Na why our Lord continue to talk for today Gospel say “na the fruit of every tree dey make people know am” and say “good person dey bring good things out from the goodness wey full im heart.” To see Christ Himself inside your soul go make that “goodness wey full your heart” grow, and this go make you become person “wey dem don train finish” even more. Na only then you fit bear good fruit, because na Christ Himself go dey bear the good fruit inside you and through you.

So make we go back to the question we first ask: “You be person wey dem don train finish?” You dey fix your eyes every day on one Person, Jesus Himself? And if na so, you dey allow Am work for your life and, through you, for other people life? If you no fit answer these questions with “Yes” wey you sure of, then the blindness for your spiritual life fit pass as you think.

Today, think deeply about your mission to become soldier of Christ wey dem don train finish. God want use you, live inside you, and work through you. E want make you be like Am for every way. This one fit happen only when you admit the blindness wey you dey struggle with, turn your eyes to Am, and allow Am become one with you. Start by turning to Am as E dey live inside you. Look for Am, seek Am, and love Am. If you keep your eyes on Am, E go carefully take care of the rest, and lead you to life wey you go get full training and bear good fruit.

My divine Teacher, I turn to You, the Lord of everything, and I dey try fix my eyes on You. As I dey see You, abeg remove my blindness and confusion. For their place, give me wisdom so that I go always allow You live inside me and work through me, to bear plenty good fruit. Jesus, na You I trust.

The Road to Become Perfect

Monday for di Eighth Week for Ordinary Time

As Jesus dey set out for journey, one man run come meet Am, kneel down before Am, and ask Am, “Good teacher, wetin I must do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus answer am, “Why you dey call Me good? Nobody dey good except God alone. You know the commandments…” Mark 10:17–19

Jesus dey speak to different people for different ways. E rebuke the proud people wey dey feel say dem pass others, wey come set trap for Am. E dey especially gentle and kind to the sinner wey turn from sin to God and come with tears. E use parables and figures of speech talk to those wey want know more but get only small faith. And for those wey come with open heart, wey sincerely dey seek the truth, E speak clearly, with love, and without going round the matter.

Today Gospel give us the story of the Rich Young Man wey we know well. Notice how this young man come meet Jesus. First, e “run come meet” Jesus. This one show say e really want talk with our Lord. E still kneel down before Jesus, and this show im humility and reverence. Then e ask Jesus one direct and important question. E no ask Jesus to heal anybody. E no dey look for miracle or favour for imself. Instead, this young man ask the question wey all of us suppose ask Jesus every day. “Good teacher, wetin I must do to inherit eternal life?” This na question wey you dey think deeply about and ask our Lord?

As the story dey continue, Jesus give two answers. First, E give the young man the basic answer to im question. Person dey receive eternal life by staying away from serious sin, because of love and obedience to wetin God want. But after the young man ask more, Jesus give am answer wey deep well-well. This second answer come from deep love for this young man because e show the key to become perfect. “One thing still remain wey you never do. Go, sell wetin you get, and give to the poor, and you go get treasure for heaven; then come, follow Me.”

Plenty people dey live their life by following the most basic rules of holiness. Dem dey avoid serious sin so that dem go remain for state of grace. And this one good. But Jesus want much more: E want make we dey perfect. When we sincerely seek to become perfect, Jesus go answer us as E answer the Rich Young Man. To become perfect, we need the deepest cleansing from the things wey we hold on to for way wey no good for our soul. Most people get plenty things wey dem hold on to wey dey stop dem from becoming perfect. The way dem hold on to those things fit no be mortal sins, but dem be venial sins or things wey never perfect for their spiritual life. So, e important to know say if you want become perfect, and if you humble yourself before our Lord and sincerely ask how you fit become perfect, E go invite you with love to stop holding on to everything except God and Im holy will for your life. You must pray and seek to understand wetin this one mean for the way you go live your own life.

Today, think well whether you fit join this rich young man ask Jesus these questions with humble heart. You want know how to dey perfect? If na so, you ready to act on the answer wey Jesus go give you? You ready to leave everything wey dey block you from doing wetin God want, so that you go fit follow Am and do His perfect will? Think well about this question and commit yourself to accept Jesus’ answer with all your heart. Then you go get riches for the things wey really matter pass wetin you fit ever imagine.

My Lord wey dey give with open hand, You dey call me to dey perfect. You dey call me to turn away from everything wey dey stop me from loving You perfectly and accepting Your will with all my heart. Abeg, help me turn to You sincerely every day, as I dey seek only Your full will for everything. As I dey do so, abeg, free me from everything wey dey stop me from living the perfect life wey You call me to live. Jesus, na You I trust.

To Give and Receive Gifts

Tuesday for Week Eight for Ordinary Time

Jesus talk say, “Amen, I dey tell una, nobody wey don leave house or brothers or sisters or mama or papa or children or lands because of Me and because of the Gospel wey no go receive hundred times more…” Mark 10:29–30

Wetin Jesus talk for up na answer to Peter wey tell Am say, “We don leave everything follow You.” E be like say Peter dey praise himself, as e dey try show how much sacrifice im and the other disciples don make to follow Jesus. And na true, dem really leave everything wey belong to their former life. Dem leave their home, their work, their relationships and everything wey be part of the everyday life wey dem don dey live, as dem answer Jesus wey call dem. Dem truly give themselves completely.

When Jesus hear this thing wey Peter talk, E no give the answer wey person go expect. E no tell Peter say, “Yes, una don do am, and e really impress Me, Peter. Una do well, and thank you!” Instead, Jesus explain to Peter straightaway say the sacrifice wey im and the others don make no be waste. Dem go receive gifts wey pass wetin dem fit imagine because dem stand firm for their commitment to follow Jesus. So, Jesus dey talk say the gifts wey E go give dem go far, far pass every sacrifice wey dem make.

This no mean say Jesus dey look down on the sacrifice wey Peter make; instead, na way wey Jesus take encourage am. E dey encourage Peter and the other disciples make dem get full confidence for their decision to follow Am. Their sacrifice go bring back hundred times wetin dem give. That one truly na good investment.

Sometimes, all of us fit face the temptation to feel say wetin God dey ask from us too much. Na true say God dey ask plenty from us. E dey ask everything from us. E dey ask make we give Am our whole life completely. E dey call us make we leave every selfish way and dedicate ourselves to His holy will without leaving anything out. But if we understand the reward wey dey come when we give ourselves, then the sacrifices wey we make go seem small beside the reward.

Today, think well whether you fit talk those words of the Apostle, Saint Peter: “Lord, I don leave everything to follow You.” You don truly give your life completely to Christ Jesus? Things still dey wey you dey hold back, wey you no want “sacrifice” for our Lord? Think deeply about those words of Peter, and allow yourself to see the areas of your life wey you still need to surrender to Jesus. And as you dey do so, allow the reward wey our Lord promise to move you reach the point wey you truly no go hold anything back, and you go truly leave everything to follow His holy will.

My Lord wey dey give with open hand, You dey ask me to give You my all. You dey ask me to leave everything as I dey seek Your perfect will. Give me the grace wey I need to answer Your call and live for You with sacrifice, without counting wetin e go cost me. Your generosity pass wetin mouth fit describe, my dear Lord, and I trust say if I follow You, plenty good fruit go come from am. Jesus, na You I trust.

Greatness for Holy Life of Service

Wenesde of di Eighth Week for Ordinary Time

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come meet Jesus and tell Am say, ‘Teacher, we want make You do for us anything wey we ask You.” E answer say, ‘Wetin una want make I do for una?” Dem answer Am say, “Allow us make we sit for Your glory, one for Your right side and the other for Your left side.” Mark 10:35–37

James and John get boldness well-well. Part of wetin fit give dem this boldness na say dem don come know the goodness of Jesus very well. E no be like any other person, and dem see clearly say E no dey pretend. So, dem allow themselves fall for the trap of taking Jesus’ goodness as something wey dem fit use anyhow, as dem ask our Lord for favour wey go benefit only themselves. Jesus answer dem gently and with deep thought. For the end, James and John come humble small because of their attempt to get this selfish favour, when the other disciples come “vex” because of wetin dem ask.

Jesus sum up His answer to these disciples like this: “…anybody wey want be great among una go be una servant; anybody wey want be first among una go be everybody slave.” Of course, Jesus dey talk especially about Himself. Na Im be the greatest and the first among dem. And na because of this, Jesus humble Himself as their servant and “everybody slave.” Normally, when person hear about being slave, na very bad things e dey bring to mind. To make another person slave na to abuse the dignity of that person. Na way to treat the person as if im dignity no matter. But even so, Jesus talk say the best way to truly be great na to become everybody slave.

When person force another person to become slave, na serious abuse be that. But another kind of slavery wey holy dey, and na this one Jesus dey talk about. For Jesus, slavery wey holy na when we give ourselves to another person out of love, as sacrifice. And na this Jesus do perfectly. His death for Cross na real death of His body. Na sacrifice of His life for this earth, but He do am freely so that others go fit dey free. As Jesus dey talk about Himself, He explain this His holy “slavery” when He talk say, “Because the Son of Man no come make people serve am, but to serve people and to give im life as ransom for many people.”

The first thing wey make Jesus great na the simple truth say He na God. But His greatness show pass for His human nature when He give His life “as ransom for many people.” Na the Cross become the greatest act of service out of love wey anybody don ever know. The fruit of His sacrifice, wey He make without thinking of Himself, na salvation for everybody wey turn to Him. So, Jesus turn slavery and death into the greatest act of love wey anybody don ever know.

Today, think deeply about how God dey call you to live as slave in this holy way. How God dey call you to give yourself to others as sacrifice out of love? If we look am only from human point of view, e hard to understand sacrifice, life of service as slave, and even slavery wey holy. But when we take Jesus as our example, e go clear well-well. Look for ways wey you fit give yourself to others without putting yourself first, and know say the more you fit follow our Lord example for this holy work, the greater your life go be.

Lord of all holiness, Your greatness show for Your human nature through the way You serve perfectly, when You freely choose to die for the sins of people wey turn to You for redemption. You humble Yourself and take the form of a slave, so that everybody go fit dey free. Help me to always trust Your great love and to continue to open myself to the gift of redemption wey You dey offer. Jesus, na You I trust.

To Cry Out to Jesus

Tosde of di Eighth Week for Ordinary Time

As Jesus dey leave Jericho with im disciples and plenty people, Bartimaeus, one blind man wey be Timaeus pikin, sit down for roadside dey beg. When e hear say na Jesus of Nazareth, e begin cry out dey talk say, “Jesus, pikin of David, pity me.” Mark 10:46–47

How you dey pray? You dey ever “cry out” to Jesus with firm belief and all your heart? This blind man, Bartimaeus, give us wonderful example of how we suppose pray to our Lord. First of all, the blind man get need. His blindness stand for every weakness and need wey you get for life. So, wetin you dey struggle with pass for life? Which sin you dey fall into again and again pass? Or wetin dey cause you sorrow pass?

To see our weakness na the first step. Once we know our greatest needs, we must also “cry out” to our Lord just as Bartimaeus do. When Bartimaeus hear say na Jesus, somehow e sense inside im soul say Jesus want heal am. How e take sense this? E listen to God voice inside am. Yes, e hear the noise of many people wey dey talk about Jesus as He dey pass. But that one alone no fit move am to cry out and know say na Jesus be the source of the mercy wey e need. Wetin move am na God clear voice, as Holy Spirit dey move am inside im soul, dey show am say e need Jesus and say Jesus want heal am.

At first, the people around Bartimaeus scold am and tell am make e keep quiet. And if Bartimaeus faith no strong, e fit don listen to the crowd and keep quiet as e lose hope. But e clear well-well say e no only refuse to mind how others dey scold am; e “continue to cry out even more.”

For here, Bartimaeus show us two things about how we must turn to our Lord. First, we must sense His gentle but clear presence inside our soul. We must recognise His voice and the ways He dey move us through grace. He want heal us, and we must sense His presence for our lives from within. Secondly, we must put all our attention strongly on that voice inside us. The crowd wey scold Bartimaeus stand for the many “voices” and temptations wey we dey face for life, wey dey try stop us from crying out with faithfulness and zeal to God wey dey speak to us. Nothing suppose stop us as we make up our mind with all our heart to call Jesus because of our need.

Today, think deeply about how Bartimaeus be like picture of yourself. See how you need our Lord badly, and listen for His clear voice. You dey hear Him? You dey sense say He dey pass? As you do, cry out to Him with zeal, all your strength and firm belief. And if you notice temptations wey dey try silence your prayer and faith, put more strength and cry out “even more” to our Lord. He go hear you, call you come meet Him and give you that grace wey He want give you.

My merciful Jesus, You dey pass by all the time, and Your divine presence dey draw me come near You. Give me the grace wey I need to see wetin I need and cry out to You with all my heart. My dear Lord, make nothing ever stop me from praying this prayer with all my heart, and when temptation come, make I cry out to You even more. Jesus, na You I trust.

Jesus Scold People

Friday for Week Eight for Ordinary Time

The next day, as dem dey comot from Bethany, hunger dey catch am. E see one fig tree wey get leaves from far, so e go there to see whether e fit find anything for the tree. When e reach there, e no find anything except leaves; the season for figs never reach. Then e tell the tree, “Make nobody ever chop your fruit again!” And im disciples hear am. Mark 11:12–14

This story different well-well, and e get plenty things wey fit hold our attention. The first thing wey e tell us be say Jesus na full human being. As human being, hunger catch Am. But this story tell us plenty more than just say hunger catch Jesus. E for don know say the season for figs never reach, but E still decide to look for fig. And when E no find any, E curse the fig tree. As we read later for this chapter, the tree dry up and die. E do this thing as sign for Im disciples, because dem hear when E curse the tree, and later dem see say the tree don dry up.

Saint Bede, one of the early Church Fathers, tell us say this thing wey Jesus do get deeper spiritual meaning. The tree stand for the many people wey Jesus meet, and wey E still dey meet today, wey no bear good fruit for their lives. Na the Pharisees and other people wey practise their faith only for outside. Saint Bede tell us say the leaves stand for the outward things of the faith, and the fruit wey no dey stand for the inner fruit of holy life and good works wey dem no get. This lesson tell us say Jesus expect plenty from us. E don make up Im mind to find good fruit for our lives. E want make we truly become holy. And when E find only outward things, E go correct us with love, and even take those outward things comot.

Which good fruit our Lord want find for your life? How E want make you grow for holy life in way wey people fit see? You just dey follow routine, attend Mass and say some prayers, but you no dey produce plenty virtue, compassion, mercy and goodness? You dey talk say you believe in our Lord, but you no dey preach the holy Gospel with both your words and your actions? If our Lord come meet you as E come meet this fig tree, wetin E go find?

To be Christian no be something wey concern only you and God. To be Christian mean say you must give yourself so fully to serve God and other people, so that God fit do wonderful things through you. The Christian faith must bear good fruit for your life, and through you, for other people their lives. And the fruit must plenty.

Today, think well about this holy picture of Jesus as E dey walk go meet this fig tree and check am for fig fruit. See this tree as picture of your soul, and see the hunger wey dey our Lord heart. As E dey look you and your life, E go see wetin go satisfy His hunger? E go see holiness and good works wey dey show clearly? Or na almost nothing E go see apart from the way you dey claim for outside say you be Christian? Commit yourself to live life wey truly holy, wey full of holiness and wey people fit see, and our Lord hunger go quench.

My Lord wey dey ask much from me, You dey call all Your followers to live holy life wey dey change person, wey dey show clearly, and wey dey bear fruit for Your Kingdom. Help me make I no be Christian for name only, but especially for wetin I dey do. Make my life truly bear the good fruit of holiness, and make that holiness become the way wey You go take satisfy the spiritual hunger of Your people. Jesus, na You I trust.

The Danger of Strong-Head

Saturday for Week Eight for Ordinary Time

“I go ask una one question. Answer Me, and I go tell una the authority wey I take dey do these things. John im baptism come from heaven or from human beings?  Answer Me.” Mark 11:29–30

Na this answer Jesus give the chief priests, the scribes and the elders when dem come meet Am for the Temple area and ask Am which authority E dey use do the things wey E dey do. And wetin Jesus do? The day before, Jesus dey the Temple and E drive the people wey dey change money comot. E tell dem, “Dem no write am say: ‘Dem go call My house house of prayer for all peoples’? But una don turn am to hideout for thieves.” This one vex the religious leaders well-well, and dem begin discuss at once how dem go fit put Jesus to death.

First, think about how tension full everywhere. Dem truly dey plan to kill Jesus, the Son of God. Hatred and jealousy full their hearts, and dem refuse to believe in Am. Jesus see their hard hearts, and E put dem for tight corner: dem must first answer Im question before E go answer their own. Why Jesus go do this?

The question wey Jesus ask dem na actually act of great mercy from Am. E give dem chance to repent. If only dem don answer Im question with humble faith and honesty, dem for fit save their lives. Instead, dem discuss Im question among themselves and give the answer wey go keep dem out of trouble. If dem talk say John im baptism come from human beings and no be from God, dem fear say the people go turn against dem. So dem just talk say, “We no know.” But imagine say dem don give the correct answer. What if dem don discuss am among themselves and agree say John im baptism truly come from God, and say dem suppose don believe am? If only dem don humble themselves and admit say dem make serious mistake about John, then Jesus for don answer their question, and their life of true faith for don start. But dem no do so. Dem continue with their strong-head. Dem no fit admit say dem dey wrong.

Strong-head dey among the sins wey dangerous pass. Na sin wey no fit get forgiveness, because wetin e really mean na to refuse to change. And when person refuse to admit im sin and refuse to change, God no fit help am. The person go remain lost inside im sin and suffer wetin the sin go bring.

You dey struggle with strong-head for your life? E dey hard you to admit when you dey wrong? E dey hard you to tell another person sorry and try to change?

Today, think deeply about anything wey you still dey stubborn about. Any matter of faith dey wey you refuse to believe? Any relationship wey don break dey wey you refuse to humble yourself repair? You dey find excuse for your sin and refuse to admit say you guilty and need to change? Pray to our Lord make He give you humble heart. For many ways, humility no be any other thing pass to dey completely honest with yourself and other people before God. No follow the example of these religious leaders. Humbly try to remove every stubbornness from your heart so that our Lord fit enter and bring His mercy into your life.

My Jesus wey dey stand firm, You dey face people wey get pride, wey dey carry body up and wey no gree change, with plenty strength and love. You dey do so to help dem overcome their stubborn heart. Give me the grace to dey humble, my dear Lord, so that I go always fit admit my sin and turn to You with love. Jesus, na You I trust.
