Morning Prayers

Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.

Upon the completion of the Morning Offering, review the notes you made after your previous holy hour to remind yourself of those things God spoke to you. Resolve to work on them throughout the day. Recall also any resolution you made the night before in your Daily Examen and commit yourself to this throughout the day. Then pray one of these prayers of surrender:

Suscipe Prayer of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding,
and my entire will,
all I have and possess.

You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.

Everything is Yours; do with it what You will.
Give me only Your love and Your grace.
That’s enough for me. Amen.

Prayer of Surrender by Charles de Foucauld

Father, I abandon myself into Your hands; do with me what You will. Whatever You may do, I thank You: I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only Your will be done in me, and in all Your creatures—I wish no more than this, O Lord.

Into Your hands I commend my soul; I offer it to You with all the love of my heart, for I love You, Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself into Your hands without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for You are my Father. Amen.
